We want to study the distribution of polymorphisms within genes that codify proteins implicated in the telomerase complex in a cohort of alcoholics and in a control group, in order to analyze whether there is any association between these polymorphisms, telomere length and the development of alcoholism itself or alcohol-related problems such as alcoholic liver disease.
