The National DNA Bank has a long trajectory of cooperative work, first coordinating the main structure of nodes of diseases until 2009, and from 2014 till 2017 as part of the Biomolecular and Bioinformatics Resources Platform of the Health Institute Carlos III.
At present, the National DNA Bank belongs to different cooperative research structures:
BIOBANKS AND BIOMODELS PLATFORM
The Biobanks and Biomodels Platform is a technological platform to support biomedical research promoted by the Health Institute Carlos III (ISCIII) within the call for ISCIII Platforms to support R&D&I in Biomedicine and Health Sciences of the Strategic Action in Health 2017-2020. The aim of this platform is to boost the research and innovation capacities of the National Health System (NHS) and their transfer to the productive sector; as a support of the NHS it is integrated by different national research institutes.
The National DNA Bank participates by coordinating the initiative promoted by the Biomedical Research Institute of Salamanca (IBSAL, https://ibsal.es/es/), to join this platform.
Thus, the integrated proposal of the IBSAL is made up of three complementary units with a history of joint collaboration, as services of research support, of more than 15 years. For more information, please consult their respective websites:
The participation of the IBSAL in the Biobanks and Biomodels Platform (Ref. PT20/00085) is funded by the ISCIII and the European Found of Regional Development (FEDER, “A way of making Europe”) and cofounded by the IBSAL, the University of Salamanca and the Cancer Research Foundation of the University of Salamanca.
