Título: Determinación del riesgo relatico de los distintos genotipos de susceptibilidad para la enfermedad celíaca en la población de Castilla y León.
IP: Dr. José Antonio Garrote Adrados
Resumen del proyecto: Celiac Disease (CD) is in strong linkage to MHC or HLA genes (Locus CELIAC1, 6p21). Risk genetic markers are the only diagnostic criteria of CD that are not linked to gluten uptake, however their predictive value is depending to their prevalence in general population. CD susceptibility genotype classification in risk categories is an information used in clinical practice and it should be included in in Laboratory report of CD susceptibility alelles. Genotype associated risk classification should be calculated for every population, and some genotypes of low prevalence, might be misclassificated. There is no published data about the distribution of HLA-DQ haplotypes in Spanish general population. We are using as referece values, the data of Italian or Portuguese populations. The proper genotype classification need the knowledge of their distribution in our reference population. , so the general aim of our Project is to establish the genotype classification for the susceptibility to CD using the population of Castilla and Leon HLA-DQ genotype distribution. Our specific objetives are as follows: 1-To type the HLA-DQ in a simple of population of Castilla and Leon. 2-To establish the frequency of the haplotypes and genotypes of HLA-DQ in general population of Castilla and Leon. 3-To compare these frequencies with the ones of the CD patients diagnosed in Hospital Clínico Universitario y Hospital Universitario Rio Hortega of Valladolid. 4-To calculate the OR and RR of HLA-DQ genotypes for CD. 5-To assign one CD risk category to every genotype in Castilla and Leon population.
